Bring This World To Life With Every New Step In Refunct

Its time for a Challenge. Do you need a game that is short but sweet? A game to share with children that doesnt feature death sequence when you fail a puzzle? Then Refunct is up your alley.

I selected Refunct for my Let’s Run It Series because of its amazing but also Relaxing soundtrack (Listen Here), crisp yet vibrant graphics,  and then there’s the educational element the easy challenges featured in the platforming puzzles; that will have you using problem solving, and critical thinking. Also with puzzle games like Refunct according to various psychologist, neurologist, and gamification experts promotes a known process called neuroplasticity which is fundamental to our ability to learn new skills, keep hold of old ones, and form new memories. This prevents the risk of cognitive deterioration because when someone plays a puzzle game, they are using strategy reasoning, memory, attention and logic. Even though Refunct does not feature a complex narrative, tutorial,or a menacing Antagonist, the game will be addictive and really satisfying to play for both adults and children.

Refunct was developed and published by Dominique Grieshofer an independent game developer in October 2015, with Singto “Kristofferson” Conley providing the music. Refunct is based off of the developer’s first game Refunktion  a free first-person stealth platformer; everything apart from engine, sounds, models and textures is completely self-made. If your looking for other games from this developer try Swarm Lake released in March 2018 , Dominique Grieshofer continues to this day working on other various projects.

Refunct is a first person 3D puzzle Adventure platformer in a peaceful world Using parkour wall-jumps, slides, various lifts, and more as you move through this ever-changing world letting you play at your own pace. You collect cubes, and press the red buttons, as pillars rise out of the ocean; this game will somewhat remind you of Mirror’s Edge.

Refunct in an affordable game of only $3 and is avaliable on PC/ Mac/Linux via Steam/ Xbox One

Are You Human or Machine? Find Out In The Turing Test

The mystery must be solved are you human or machine? Using lateral thinking exploring theories about artificial intelligence, these philosophical questions will make you question your own thought process; while you solve over 70 plus puzzles.

I decided to pick The Turing Test for my Let’s Run It Series for its story, educational element, and amazing graphics. This games story has a deep plot twist that will keep you hooked, addictive puzzles that are challenging but have just enough difficulty to keep your playing for hours. what I love about this game is that it reminds me of Portal 1&2 I love the puzzles and how they make you really think and the story is interesting and reels you in. Some of the best moments are interactions between you and the AI T.O.M, and that sense of accomplishment when you solve a difficult puzzle.

The Turing Test was released in August 2016 by United Kingdom studio Bulkhead Interactive (November 2015) and published by Square Enix (PS4 version). They were originally two separate studios Deco Digital and Bevel Studios and they worked on Pneuma: Breath of Life back 2015. The studio’s creative director Howard Philpott for the Turing Test said that, their inspiration for the progression and game mechanics were from 2014 puzzle game The Talos Principle. The Turing Test is part of their publishers indie initiative, Square Enix Collective, a program to work more with independent game studios. If you are looking for other games from Bulkhead interactive studio’s, checkout Battalion 1944 a World War 2 first person shooter, that is really popular on Steam.

The Turing Test is a single player puzzle game were you play as Ava Turing an International Space Agency (ISA) engineer working at a research station located on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. Words Are Your Gift In Typoman

You are the Hero made of letters in a dark world, combating evil forces to find the last letter to restore hope, using your gift by activating vocabulary that expresses its own atmosphere affecting the environment; words can be a blessing or a curse. Some of my favorite moment are the visual effects of the words you combine, and finding pieces to the journal.

I decided to pick Typoman for my Let’s Run It Series because, it does have an educational element, you move letters to spell words, but you also have to use problem solving, and strategy, because the solution might not be as obvious. This game has an unique way to use letters to make words to alter your environment, So you can solve various puzzles captivating that creative use of language  in a cleaver way, this game by no means is abstract you will have to think outside of the box.

Typoman is a 2D puzzle platformer adventure game published and developed by Brainseed Factory, a German game developer, released in November 2015.
